Senior Mental Health Assessment and Therapy Services
Aging, illness, injury, and recovery present significant mental health challenges for seniors within residential care facilities. From depression due to life changes, loss of ability or loss of a loved one, to the onset of behavioral and cognitive disorders associated with age, these challenges can be debilitating.
Greenhouse helps our partner facilities to overcome or manage such challenges by providing expert and compassionate senior mental health services that help residents to achieve fuller, healthier lives. All resident referrals begin with an in-depth assessment conducted by a Greenhouse clinical team member. The assessment evaluates the resident’s current mental health symptoms and diagnoses, life circumstance, sources of stress, medications, and cognitive functioning, as well as personal and medical history.
Greenhouse then thoroughly documents all findings in progress notes, and makes appropriate treatment recommendations and plans. Treatments may include individual psychotherapy, family therapy, grief counseling, and/or medication management. Our clinical team can treat and address a variety of presenting issues, including:
- Stress, anxiety, adjustment-to-life transitions
- Depression, grief, loss, loneliness, and isolation
- Dementia, bipolar mood disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Suicidal thoughts, self-sabotaging behaviors, frequent hospitalization
- Family, relationship, and social integration difficulties
- End of life planning
